Interesting facts from our tour:

• Star of David is displayed in Guatemala City because Guatemala cast the last vote to approve the state of Israel.
• The city is 5000 feet above sea level.
• The reason for all of the monuments was to make Guatemala City, "The Little Paris." 
• Guatemala City has the "Cream House" instead of "The White House"
• In one of the government buildings:
• Every door handle has the leader's thumb print
• The inside has traffic lights throughout.
• Red means the leader is in.
• Yellow means ministers are in.
• Green means "go ahead and go about your work stress-free"

Modeled after Barcelona's architecture.
Made of volcano rock, obsidian, and marble.
