Thank You, God for this opportunity to show Your love to others. Thank You for the great teammates, great leaders, and for keeping us safe and healthy. Thank You for our family and friends praying for us. You are so awesome!   Saying goodbye to our wonderful hostess. T Through Immigration and Security. Only a few scissors and nail clippers confiscated - oops! Pretty bright-eyed for the early morning flights! Goodbye, Guatemala! Houston! The final leg to home! So many great memories! Our mascot! 10/21/2022 Guatemala City Tour

Interesting facts from our tour: Star of David is displayed in Guatemala City because Guatemala cast the last vote to approve the state of Israel. The city is 5000 feet above sea level. The reason for all of the monuments was to make Guatemala City, "The Little Paris."  Guatemala City has the " Cream House" instead of "The White House" In one of the government buildings: Every door handle has the leader's thumb print The inside has traffic lights throughout. Red means the leader is in. Yellow means ministers are in. Green means "go ahead and go about your work stress-free" Modeled after Barcelona's architecture. Made of volcano rock, obsidian, and marble. Peace monument     -  Two left hands close to the heart     -  13 arms representing 13 areas of conflict Street currency exchangers wiggle their hands as a signal to exchange with them! 10/20/2022 First leg of our journey back!

We enjoyed our last breakfast at the hotel and said our goodbyes to the outstanding staff. Several of the hotel employees came through our eyeglass clinic.  Guatemalan American                         On the bus and enjoying Guatemala from the road!  - Saw black tarps covering watermelon gardens. - Pulled over for a police checkpoint. Taxis Rubber trees Many motorcycles A little scary, if you watch the road! 10/19/2022 Clinic #4 - Full day! 225 people served!

It's hot, sweaty, and exhausting, but we are finding it hard to believe that it is already our last day of clinics. The people are so nice and so appreciative! What a blessing that God chose us to come and serve here! We were greeted by a line outside once again! Pastor was already sharing the Gospel of Jesus with the first group when we arrived to start our day. Station #1 - Registration (includes notes on eyesight problems) Station #2 - Sharing the Gospel Station #3 - Nursing and Education - Check for cataracts, infections, other eye diseases - Explain preventative care, good food for eye health - Distribute eye drop bottles and explain use Station #4 - Testing - Test eyesight using flippers with prescription lenses  - Test both distance vision and reading vision Station #5 - Pulling Use the test results and size up the person's face to:      - Pull 3 pairs of glasses for each prescription based on testing (distance and reading)     - Pull 2 pairs of sunglasses for the perso
